The Woodway EcoMill is a self powered treadmill with a built in alternator that charges a battery built into the deck. That means zero mains electricity consumption! The user produces all the power that is needed to run and charge the treadmill. With no need for any electrical power point outlets the EcoMill can be placed anywhere in the fitness centre and can easily be moved at a later date if required. The EcoMill also has a footprint about 2/3 the size of a commercial powered treadmill and therefore more units can fit into the same area or the same number into a smaller area. The user charged battery powers the console allowing the user to set their maximum speed which is controlled via a frictionless electromagnetic braking system. The braking system is also used to reduce the deck speed to 1.0 mph should the safety lanyard be pulled.
Heart rate, distance, time, and calories are displayed on the console. The console also allows the user to recharge a cell phone or iPod via a single USB port. There is also a Cardio Theater ® connection on the back of the Controller Panel (CSAFE RJ45 connector). The unique Woodway belt design is very low maintenance and is designed to last for over 320,000 Km per unit - no other treadmill running deck can do this! The belt design also reduces impact by removing the foot strike component of a normal powered treadmill. | ||||||||||||
