KMS OptoSmart Sensor Advantages
- OptoSmart units all come with pre-programmed logic that has a set straight line beam set to a 2M Long range – SW CLOSED status occurs when the athlete passes in front of its beam – suitable for all KMS applications
- OptoSmart works on all current KMS wiring set ups with our original E3F2-R2C4 KMS Infra Red Optical Sensors Timing Lights (that used a Reflector on an opposite camera stand)
- Both Sensor types can be used together on the same KMS wiring set up
- OptoSmart sensors clip on to all exiting KMS camera stands using the same KMS Quick Release clip used on all KMS stands
- Does not require a reflector so this cuts the number of stands required by 50% - alternatively keep any existing KMS Reflector stands & add more of these OptoSmart units
- Now KMS agility & /or reaction time runs do not have a camera stand opposite to hold the reflector on each gate - saves testing space & reduces set up times. Also there is no opposite reflector stands & beam time consuming alignment issues as they are now an obsolete function
- OptoSmart beams have no reflector opposite so it is now impossible to have any switch status ON / OFF signal change via any beam position shift if the beam is out of alignment with the reflector. Therefore the ON / OFF switch change signal to the KMS program can now only happen when an athlete passes thru its 2M Long beam which then activates the ON / OFF switch status change
- OptoSmart does not work on the reflective light principle like all Infra Red Optical Sensors do. Hence OptoSmart units are not sensitive to switch changes triggered by low evening or morning sun ray beaming back into them.
