Photo 4 Controlled Jumps via setting the dual independent resistance load dial settings. This enables anyone to jump up (concentric) with any load from their body weight up. However they can land with substantially less (eccentric) than their body weight whilst firmly supported by both handle grips.

- This is very important exercise for middle aged & elderly people. Aerobic exercise is good for stimulating slow twitch muscle fibre tissue to improve endurance.
- However in a sedentary lifestyle we all loose the fast twitch
muscle fibre tissue composition. This is because this type of muscle
requires ballistic stimulation regenerate growth.
- Astronauts have to spend extensive time in their rehabilitation
program rebuilding their fast twitch fibre composition as they loose
this type of composition after a few months of living in a weightless
environment.
- In day to day life the same happens in a sedentary lifestyle it
is just that it happens over a longer time span.
Why is this exercise important for middle aged & elderly people?
- In day to day life we can trip or stumble & we only have a fraction of second to recover thus preventing the possibility of falling ( & possibly suffering a major injury.)
- It is mainly our fast twitch muscle fibre composition in our legs that are required to react quickly to prevent this from happening.
- Without an adequate fast twitch fibre composition in our legs the risk of falling from a stumble is very much higher than it needs to be.
- As humans we learn to crawl before we walk & then we learn to
run.
- With the FT617A it is now also possible to land with much less
than your body (in the early training stages of this exercise program,)
whilst holding the handles for much increased stability.
- With the FT617A we can learn how jump again we can learn how jump again
& regenerate that
lost fast twitch fibre composition.
- With the FT617A it is much easier & safer to regenerate this
twitch fibre composition back to the levels required to withstand the
rigors of day to day life.
